Seventeen-year-old Aidan Jack Finnecy hopes to be a voice for his generation through his passion for music. Today, the up-and-coming musician is writing and producing songs with impactful lyrics crafted to help and inspire others in one way or another. He recently dropped his debut single “Rhubarb” on August 10, 2020.
Born and raised in Montclair, New Jersey, Aidan Jack Finnecy is a 17-year-old junior high school student who is quickly rising in the music scene. His music journey began when he was 14 years old. Being a tall guy, he has always looked older than his age, and this gave him the benefit of having older friends. He attended his first DIY show at The Meatlocker with a bunch of those friends, and eventually, they had asked him to play the drums for their band, Wendigo.
Wendigo became Aidan’s first serious music band, and through this experience, he established connections with many important people. Through the group, he was no longer just part of the crowd in New Jersey’s DIY shows; he was one of those playing for the shows. A while after playing for the group, he started another band called Rogue Magicians. This time, it taught him about the art of booking and promoting shows. Eventually, he established his third and final band, Sea World.
Sea World opened new doors for Aidan in the field of songwriting. This time, he was the band’s frontman and songwriter. In the summer of 2019, his previous band Rogue Magicians was booked for over two dozen shows, but tragedy struck, and the rising musician found himself having to do all the shows alone. While it was uncomfortable at first, he eventually fell in love with performing alone and began promoting himself as a solo artist.
Soon, he entered into a creative partnership with his friend, AC Borress, who is the producer in the partnership. This resulted in several tracks, including “Used to It” and “Heart Attack,” which are currently on their Youtube channel Quackmusic. Their breakthrough came after releasing the actual EP, which received terrific responses and praise from the listeners.
Inspired to show the world more of their masterpieces, they released their new debut single “Rhubarb.” Currently, he is also filming a music video for “Indie Trash,” which will feature two of his friends from his live band, Sean Risquet of the band Inform Against and Sal Lano from the band Dead End.
What sets Aidan apart from other artists is his strong ambition, unmatched determination, and the carefree take he has on music. Although he is quite unpredictable in his passion, his songs always feature bold and impactful lyrics, which are thought-provoking. He strives to be on top of the music industry. Aside from his music and through his music, he also hopes to be the voice of his generation as he is always ready to speak up when the need arises.
In the future, he hopes to reach far in life and bring as many friends as he can with him. He dreams of being able to help out people by providing them with opportunities in the music industry or by merely producing impactful music that will help them realize that at the end of the day, everything falls into the right places.
Indeed, the power of art has brought him to the growing success he has today, and for Aidan, it is his turn to return the favor by creating his art and hoping it will help others who are going through tough times.
