Don Anthony reached out to Charles Ellis, his lifelong friend, when he walked away from a career in the music industry, lost his business, relationship, vehicle, and home. After thinking that any information was better than what was happening, he finally caved in and invited Charles to share.
Charles Ellis himself had gone through some difficult times. He lost his security clearance in the military for having bad credit, went through a divorce, and lived in his sister’s basement before getting his own apartment. Charles went on a journey to build his credit and was successful in his endeavors.
They worked together to rebuild their credit profiles. Don became obsessed and started to do more research on personal credit building, creating a blueprint for their credit profile building success that became the foundation for DGA Management Services.
DGA Management Services is the product of Don and Charles’ understanding that the answer is not in the credit score but in the personal profile factors behind the credit score that make up part of the FICO algorithm itself. They found that having a thin or invisible profile gives people a low credit score. To boost one’s profile can be done by adding positive tradelines, revolving accounts, low utilization, perfect payment history, and having very few inquiries. Don Anthony and Charles Ellis, along with a few friends, built impressive profiles using these tactics.
The company implements a system that includes thinking outside the box. They do credit building using cell phone payments, rent payments, and maintaining a certain balance in their clients’ checking account for at least six months. Other credit reporting companies use old technology, and the financial system is historically racially biased in producing credit offerings with low-interest credit cards. DGA Management Services wants to use private & public key access, smart contracts, and digital signatures on a distributed public ledger on the blockchain.
Since its inception, DGA Management Services has become an educational profile-building platform that emphasizes building wealth over its clients’ lifetime. They are driven to help high school graduates, college students and those fresh out of college about to enter the workforce so they can understand the importance of financial literacy by offering a simple in/out strategy.
While there are many budget tools on the market, DGA Management Services plans to create their own, strictly for the space and young people they are looking to serve with tech that isn’t available anywhere in their field.
