Many of today’s most successful entrepreneurs had humble beginnings. For Michael Vincent, it’s no different. Coming from a simple family, the business mogul became one of the biggest internet luxury car dealers in the state of California.
Michael started as an entrepreneur at an early age. When he was eight years old, he mowed lawns in the neighborhood for extra cash. After a few months, Michael learned the value of “added services” and started repainting addresses on the sidewalk curbs as well. Michael always had a knack for hard work and business. At twelve, he moved to sell local newspapers in front of restaurants.
By the time Michael graduated high school, he had the option to go to college and select a career path or pursue a plumbing apprenticeship under his father for his uncle’s business. The thought of college never sat well with Michael, so he chose to apprentice under his father and uncle.
As a commercial plumber, Michael found considerable success.
He attended Northern California’s Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors Association (PHCC) plumbing apprenticeship program for three years before leaving to work for his other uncle’s union plumbing shop. Michael’s apprenticeship and education started all over when he made this jump. Michael became a first-year apprentice again along with a cousin.
After a five year apprenticeship, he earned his stripes in the plumbing trade and became a certified united association, UA Master Plumber, and Journeyman. Michael also became a Foreman and started running small construction jobs before he became a journeyman. Shortly after, Michael decided to pursue 3D AutoCAD and plumbing detailing/design, which was a very new technology at that time.
But even with all the success that Michael found in the plumbing industry, he still felt drawn to entrepreneurship. After working two years for the nation’s largest mechanical contractor as a lead 3D plumbing detailer and designer for hospitals, Michael Vincent started his first business venture. The side hustle was a car dealership. While Michael had never worked at a car dealership before, he was excited about the idea because he was a car guy. Along with a good friend at the time, Michael started the business with one $2,000 car, a 400 square foot office in Pleasant Hill California, and two official parking spots for sales to meet state licensing requirements.
The dealership increased from one car in inventory to around ten and made nearly $500,000 in revenue its first year. In his second year of operation, Michael found an investor who put in a seed fund that grew the dealership about 35 to 40 luxury cars in inventory at any given time in a 12k sq foot warehouse in San Ramon California. Immediately Michael’s dealership started selling 15 to 20 cars a month and averaging four to five million dollars in sales annually.
2010 In year three of his business amid the great recession, a sorrowful end for some businesses was an open door for Michael. He acquired a Chrysler dealership that went bankrupt in the 2008/2009 economic fallout. Within no time, the business became a twenty million dollar a year enterprise.
After seven years in the car business, Michael decided to sell the car dealership and start all over again and go back to his roots. The commercial construction plumbing business. This time around, the entrepreneur is taking the time to document and detail his journey on his new YouTube Channel The Leak Tv. The objective is to turn his entrepreneurial climb into digital content that will become a YouTube channel and website to help teach other aspiring entrepreneurs and tradesmen/women. Michael looks to use this opportunity to share his knowledge, ideas, and wisdom with other aspiring entrepreneurs in the hopes that it will help others who want to get on the same track.
The successful business owner will be broadcasting on his YouTube Channel The Leak Tv to make his lessons and teachings on business and life available to as many as possible.
