The team at blockchain technology solutions company double jump.tokyo recently announced a collaboration with the creators of “Captain Tsubasa,” one of the best-selling manga in history, to create a line of NFTs inspired by the manga and its lead character. The project represents a perfect fusion between double jump.tokyo’s technical innovation and the popular storytelling and world-building of “Captain Tsubasa.”

Yoichi Takahashi’s “Captain Tsubasa” is a world-famous soccer manga series that began in 1981 and has had a massive impact on pop culture worldwide. Starting as a weekly serial in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump comic book magazine, the “Captain Tsubasa” series has since been assembled in 37 volumes and followed by several sequels, collectively selling over 80 million copies worldwide.

How “Captain Tsubasa” will help NFTs grow

The official “The Ball Is Our Friend” NFT campaign for “Captain Tsubasa” will be created in partnership with blockchain pioneer double jump.tokyo. The team at double jump.tokyo is behind some of the most successful blockchain games on the market, including “My Crypto Heroes,” “Brave Frontier Heroes,” and “My Crypto Saga.” The blockchain solutions provider partners with large-scale enterprises to help them integrate blockchain into their operations.

The mission of double jump.tokyo is to help facilitate the mainstream adoption of NFTs, and the gaming and entertainment industries have been the perfect partners to help achieve this goal. Popular entertainment IPs such as the “Captain Tsubasa” manga series have a devoted following and have been able to create an impassioned community around them. “This feeling of community is invaluable for any growing NFT project, and popular manga has this audience built in,” says Hironobu Ueno, CEO of double jump.tokyo.

The project’s title, “The Ball Is Our Friend,” is taken from an iconic quote repeated by Captain Tsubasa throughout the series about how the power of sports can unite our world. It is with this mantra in mind that the NFT project is made, with the ultimate goal of the NFT project being world peace through the power of soccer.

“Captain Tsubasa” has been a massive influence on athletes around the world, reaching readers on several continents and speaking many languages. The NFT project hopes to continue this legacy of inspiration by giving back to the community that made the manga so popular in the first place. For every NFT purchased, a soccer ball will be donated and distributed to communities in countries around the world.

The NFTs in the “The Ball Is Our Friend” collection will capitalize on the popularity of the manga by featuring some of its most iconic images, such as some of the most famous scenes from the series and the character’s signature moves. “The ‘Captain Tsubasa’ NFTs are designed to become valuable digital collectibles for the manga’s fans that they can hold or trade with other fans in the community,” asserts Ueno.

The technological innovations of the “The Ball Is Our Friend” NFTs

The collection represents an exciting innovation in blockchain and NFT technology. “The ‘The Ball Is Our Friend’ NFTs are created with a unique mechanism that keeps the contents of the NFTs hidden until it is opened,” Ueno explains. “This gives the NFTs a feeling of exclusivity, mystery, and excitement — much like tangible collectibles. We hope this will help the NFTs appeal even more to the franchise’s established fans while also attracting novices to the property.”

“The Ball is Our Friend” is only the latest collaboration that double jump.tokyo has had with a prominent entertainment company. “These collaborations will serve both the entertainment industry and the blockchain field,” explains Ueno. “Not only are we helping to bring these properties into the modern day with the latest technology, but we have an opportunity to help develop and build the metaverse with even more resources at our disposal.”
