Nowadays, we have all heard the stories of self-proclaimed teenage millionaires who supposedly made their money with Forex or Bitcoin and now sell courses for $1997. This story is different. Oscar Schnell is a 16-year-old marketer from Vienna, Austria. And despite making way more money than his teachers, he still attends high school.
“I see myself as a marketer. I sell products and services online, and other people do the rest for me.”, Oscar says. Right now, his main income is attributed to selling services online. In particular, Oscar uses a specific type of business strategy called outsourcing, also known as drop servicing.
Oscar went from launching his service-based business from zero to $7,229 consistent profit per month after his first month of pursuing drop servicing.
But for Oscar Schnell, it was not always like that. Oscar recalls, “My interest in entrepreneurship sparked when I was 13 years old.” In middle school, Oscar began creating Instagram theme pages that would feature different photographers’ work and started gaining a following.
But the growth was not fast enough for Oscar Schnell, so he decided to switch up his business strategy. After hearing about dropshipping on the internet, a business where one sells products directly from China for a higher price on a different website, he decided to try out e-commerce for himself.
After he launched, it didn’t work out so well for him. But after continuing to improve his marketing skills, he was able to make his first profits. It started small first, but his e-commerce ventures continued to grow.
“At the beginning, I was making good money, but with time, it got harder and harder to make a profit consistently. Very recently, a lot of roadblocks got into my way.”, he says.
Eventually, struggles with his advertising platform Facebook forced him to temporarily stop pursuing dropshipping. Since Oscar is not the kind of person who easily gives up, he tried everything to get back access to Facebook Ads. But without success. At that point, Oscar knew that there had to be a better alternative than drop shipping.
So he started working non-stop building up his drop servicing business. With his prior experience in the e-commerce and marketing industry, he was able to scale his business to a $10,000 per month profit.
“There are so many reasons why I prefer drop servicing above dropshipping. The profit margins, the consistency and the sustainability. Maybe I won’t be making $100,000 a month in revenue, but for that, I will keep more profit in the end.”
More than anything, Oscar Schnell is highly passionate about what he does. He loves marketing and business and sees himself actively pursuing it for a very long time. To the entrepreneur, the love for the business game doesn’t even begin or end with profit. It comes from the pursuit itself.
Oscar attributes much of his success to watching YouTube videos of online business owners when he was younger. That is why in mid-2020, Oscar decided to start his own YouTube channel.
“I really enjoy giving value and helping people. I wish there would have been more people showing me what is possible at such a young age.”
