The pharmaceutical giant has secured orders for 400 million doses of a vaccine of the unproven treatment for delivery from September. The AstraZeneca will consequently include a Phase 3 clinical trial with 30,000 participants and a pediatric trial.
“This contract with the AstraZeneca is a major milestone in Operation Warp Speed’s work toward a safe, effective, widely available vaccine by 2021 “ as Health and Human Services Secretary, Alex Azar stated. “The Trump administration is making multiple major investments in developing and manufacturing promising vaccines long before they’re approved so that the successful vaccine will reach the American people without a day” he said. The vaccine previously known as ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 and now as AZD1222.
“We have a lot of things happening on the vaccine front or therapeutic front”, Trump told reporters at the White House when questioned about AstraZeneca announcement. In Michigan, Trump visited Ford Motor last Thursday and said that military is “in gear so we can give out 150 to 250 million shots quickly.”

The world’s largest maker of vaccines by volume which is the Serum Institute of India, has suggested their one facilities to be used which has the capacity to produce up to 400 million doses every year to produce the oxford vaccine.
“We are scaling up on a conservative basis of about 4 to 5 million doses a month to begin with” Chief Executive Adar Poonawalla stated on the interview with Reuters, as mentioned with AstraZeneca partnership.
On the other hand, several drugmakers including Pfizer Incorporated, J & J and Sanofi are on their way to progress of vaccine development. And Moderna this week released favorable data for its potential vaccine. The findings cited that the developed vaccine produced protective antibodies in small group of healthy volunteers.

Brown urged to reopen and put more caution on the parts of the economic stability of the health care advisers.
“No workers should give their lives to do that, Mr. Senator, and I think your characterization is unfair”. Mnuchin responded. On the other hand, President Trump has said before the pandemic takes it toil that it is merely possible to reopen the specific parts of economy could lead to fatality rate increase, but his advisers stated that precautionary measures are being done.
Federal Reserve Chair Jerome H. Powell stepped his foot forward to the hearing and is being questioned together with Mnuchin about the government’s actions towards the arrestment of the economic downturn. Also, Powell told the other lawmakers that excessive spending could prevent further damages.
