Weather forecast: Cooler and less humid on Sunday
As cooler air is pushed in across Lake Ontario in the wake of our cold front, isolated lake-enhanced showers and pockets of mist are likely to continue through the night. A northerly breeze will remain through the morning as temperatures progressively drop into the 60s and 50s outside of these showers.
On Sunday, the air will have a Fall-like feel thanks to this reconfirming rush of lower humidity air. The temperature rises from the low 50s to a high of 70 degrees with partly sunny sky; perfect for a Red Wings game! Sunday night will see a drop in temperature to around 50 degrees, with a few spots in the mid 40s in the high terrain.
There will be a lot of temperature fluctuations the following week. After a chilly start to the day on Monday, winds from the south will cause highs to reach the mid to upper 70s. South of the thruway, a lone shower or storm is likely. Tuesday will see an increase in the likelihood of rain and storms as a stronger disturbance from the north moves toward the area. Highs in the upper 70s will bring an increase in humidity. A few showers will continue behind this front into Wednesday, but the cooler air that is being pushed in will be rather impressive, bringing highs into the 60s by midweek.
As we approach the weekend, the temperature will gradually rise back into the 70s and potentially even get close to 80 degrees. High pressure takes over to bring the workweek to a peaceful close with an eye on the upcoming weekend.
