Japanese animation has grown significantly more popular in the west in recent times. Many artists and consumers themselves have found great interest in the world of anime. This rise in popularity in itself has created a subculture of individuals who enjoy this form of media to great lengths. Nowadays, a new anime-inspired NFT project has come into the limelight, the female-run NFT project called Doki Division.
Doki Division is an NFT project that prominently features stylized anime tokens in the form of unique characters. The project aims to captivate fans of the anime art style while also helping them build an NFT collection and embark on their crypto portfolios with something that they’re interested in.
The project features anime-inspired artwork called Doki. Each Doki is created with over 130 hand-drawn attributes, making each of them distinct from the other. The founders of the project wanted to create something that not only attracted crypto and NFT enthusiasts but also brought in anime fans looking to delve into this rising art form.
Most NFT projects tend to steer towards the cute, animal-inspired tokens, but Doki Division is setting itself apart by bringing edgy characters to the NFT market. The collection features seemingly anime girls with various accessories that stray towards the edgier and darker themes of anime. Doki Division is filled with highly unique female characters with an edge, making them highly intimidating and cooler than the typical anime girl. “Our art represents all the women who take charge and stand out in the financial technology space,” explained the developers.
The up-and-coming NFT project also features a densely crafted backstory and lore for its world, involving three classes and six races, each one ranging in rarity. The highest class consists of the Nekoids, Akumas, and Seraphimas (the immortal race in the Doki lore); the middle class are composed of the Nymphs and Aethers, while the Florans are the commoners.
The story is set in the rich and vibrant Zephora universe. Each race coexists within Zephora, an underworld where civilians must fight and obtain their power through human blood. The universe has existed for 10,000 years, ruled by the Nekoids and Akumas, who have claimed their position atop the hierarchy through their superior strength and unmatchable power, leaving the lower classes to fight among themselves for scraps. Looking to restore the Zephora universe back into a utopia, the Florans have been plotting to initiate a revolution by seeking out power from The Eyes, with the Succubi owning the rarest.
The team over at Doki Division is already concluding the project’s build-up phase and is now preparing to open the Doki Club. The club allows holders to get free merchandise and gain access to exclusive prizes such as vacations, trips, development sneak peeks, cash drops, game nights, and many more.
The Doki Division team is currently looking to expand and hire writers and artists to help bring the Zephora universe come to life in the manga and video game world. Additionally, Doki Division will be releasing Doki boys very soon, a male counterpart to the already existing Doki girls that will surely captivate new investors and holders alike.
