The Atlanta Fashion and Polo Classic, one of the city’s most anticipated annual events, is returning for its 7th year on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at the stunning Bouckaert Farm, also known as The Horse Mansion. Nestled just outside Atlanta in Fairburn, Georgia, this unique event brings together a rich tapestry of fashion, sport, and culture. It is poised to attract a record number of attendees this year. Hosted by Miguel and Chancey Wilson, the event has garnered a reputation as one of the region’s premier social and philanthropic gatherings. In 2024, organizers are preparing for over 3,500 guests, making this year’s edition the largest to date.
The event is renowned for celebrating African American excellence in fashion and polo. With a schedule packed full of exciting events, from the inaugural Junior Polo Classic to the prestigious Atlanta Fashion and Polo Classic, it is set to be a day filled with unforgettable moments. Not only is it a platform for celebrating sport and style, but it also serves as a powerful community-driven event that gives back to local charities and youth initiatives.
Kicking off the festivities on Sunday morning is the 1st Annual Junior Polo Classic, an exciting new feature of the weekend that showcases young talent in the sport of polo. Running from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, the Atlanta Jr. Polo Team will take on their rivals from Maryland in a match featuring 12 players on each team aged between 12 and 15 years old. These rising stars in polo will battle for the honor of taking home the first-place trophy in what promises to be a high-energy competition.
“This is an important addition to our event,” says Miguel Wilson, the Atlanta Fashion and Polo Classic co-founder. “The Junior Polo Classic is not only a way to bring families together but also an opportunity to showcase the next generation of polo talent. We are thrilled to have 300 families supporting these young athletes.”
The Junior Polo Classic, which is free and open to the public, provides a rare glimpse into the future of the sport while fostering a family-friendly atmosphere that complements the sophisticated setting.
The Main Event: 7th Annual Atlanta Fashion and Polo Classic
As the morning gives way to the afternoon, the excitement will shift towards the 7th Annual Atlanta Fashion and Polo Classic. Starting at 1:00 PM, the main event will see African American polo players from across the globe compete in an elegant match on the lush fields of Bouckaert. Polo, often hailed as the “sport of kings,” combines grace, power, and precision. The match serves as the centerpiece of the day, with guests donning their most stylish attire to witness this thrilling spectacle.
But the day is not solely about polo. Following the match, the Atlanta Fashion and Polo Classic will transform into a high-fashion extravaganza. The Miguel Wilson Collection, known for its sleek, modern designs that merge timeless elegance with contemporary flair, will be on full display. The fashion show, set against the majestic landscape of Bouckaert Farm, will highlight some of the season’s most anticipated designs.
This marriage of sport and style is what makes the Atlanta Fashion and Polo Classic so unique. “The Atlanta Fashion and Polo Classic is not just an event—it’s a movement,” says Chancey Wilson. “It’s a celebration of African American culture, fashion, and sport, and we’re honored to provide a platform for that celebration.”
A Commitment to Community and Giving Back
Beyond the glamor of the polo match and fashion show, the event has a deeper purpose. Each year, the Atlanta Fashion and Polo Classic raises funds for local charities and youth programs aimed at empowering underserved communities. Attendees will have the chance to participate in a silent auction with all proceeds supporting these causes. From scholarships for young athletes to donations for community programs, the event is a powerful reminder that giving back can be as stylish as it is impactful.
The sense of community and purpose is what keeps attendees coming back year after year, and 2024 will be no different. With over 3,500 guests expected, the event is a testament to Atlanta’s love for culture, luxury, and giving back.
