How Matt Andrews Built an Empire in and Around Real Estate

If there’s one thing that people know about Matt Andrews, it’s that he isn’t afraid of a little hard work. Besides being a real estate investor, Matt’s an accomplished author and podcaster. In addition, he and his wife, Lindsay, are involved with several philanthropic projects.

Andrews started his career flipping houses about twenty years ago, so he’s done his fair share of manual labor! Doing the job himself rather than hiring outside contractors meant more profit when the job was complete. That meant more money to invest in the next project.

His determination to give back has led him down a road that many entrepreneurs travel, and Matt Andrews is glad to be on it.

Building a business lifting others up

Today Andrews’ company, REI Collective, manages properties in Florida, Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana. He’s grateful for others in the industry who shared tips and ideas that helped him grow his business. He took their advice and tweaked it to fit his individual plan, put his nose to the grindstone, and kept moving forward.

Andrews wanted to use the knowledge he acquired over the years to help others in the real estate industry. “Rather than sporadically doling out advice when someone directly asked me for help,” Andrews said. “I decided to put myself out there and share my knowledge with anyone who would listen.”

He created an affordable educational curriculum to teach students all he knew about

● wholesale properties,

● rehab properties, and

● buy and hold properties.

He reached out to small and mid-sized business owners in the real estate industry. It wasn’t long before other real estate educators were seeking him out, so he started a consulting business.

The business of helping

It turns out that Matt’s pretty good at creating ways to produce money by putting value into the world. He uses several different approaches allowing people to learn his methods in the way that best appeals to them.

The Family Mastermind

Matt is passionate about his Mastermind group because it’s doing exactly what he envisioned it would. The group of entrepreneurs celebrates each other’s successes and work together to pinpoint the problems that might have caused a plan to fail.

During the pandemic, Matt assembled a team of experts in marketing, finance, law, and other related fields to assist struggling entrepreneurs. They held virtual meetings weekly to provide a format for the team to present information and answer questions.

Next, he went through his contacts list and began introducing people whom he believed would benefit from meeting each other. Some of those connections kept companies from closing for good this past year. Some of the members in The Family Mastermind have acknowledged that 2020 was their best year ever—Matt included!

Real Estate Influencer Family Reunion

Matt and his team put together an annual event named in honor of the Family Mastermind group. They line up the most successful players in the REI Education Industry to share techniques that will keep your business moving forward.

If you’re a competitor in the real estate education industry, this year’s event takes place September 29th and 30th in Tampa, Florida.

Real Estate Influencer podcast

Matt teamed up with co-host, Jason Hartman, and launched the Real Estate Influencer podcast series in August 2020. The podcast targets real estate influencers, coaches, trainers, speakers, and software developers.

Matt and Jason discuss all things real estate and welcome top-notch guests to the program. Every episode is packed with information and engaging conversations.

Producing value in the world benefits the less fortunate

Matt Andrews will be the first to tell you that he has been blessed with an amazing life. He’s paying it forward and doing his part to provide a better life for those who are suffering. He and his wife, Lindsay, sit on the board of three charities and they get hands-on in their support as much as possible.

Ja’Mobility

Matt and Lindsay Andrews love the spirit of the Jamaican people. When they learned about the Ja’Mobility project, they jumped on the opportunity to become founding members. The project provides free wheelchairs to those who would otherwise go without—likely for their entire lives.

Ja’Mobility provides 550 low-cost, low-maintenance wheelchairs to Jamaican citizens every year.

The Khusi Hona Orphan Project

The Khusi Hona Orphan Project goes beyond providing the necessities that orphaned and abandoned children need to survive. The organization ensures these children have a happy childhood.

The children regain dignity and self-respect that so many hadn’t realized that they deserve.

The Rising Heroes Project

Matt Andrews’ newest venture is producing films—he says it’s a project he works on during his downtime. The Rising Heroes Project is experiencing phenomenal success. It produces films that inspire viewers to overcome their personal adversities and engage with the world around them in a positive way. The films depict uplifting, real-life stores that share a message of hope, courage, and commitment. They’re being picked up by digital platforms like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, and iTunes.

They are also being shown in schools and colleges across the country.

Focus on values not valuables

Ultimately, Matt Andrews built his real estate empire by making a positive impact on the world.

Sharing his methods for success in real estate through his books, mastermind groups, and the REI podcast provide the tools for others to make their mark on the world too.

It’s a lesson we can all relate to because no matter what industry we’re in, focusing on helping others succeed provides value to the world. People appreciate what you’re doing and gravitate toward the good lifting you up as you’re working to do the same for them.
