Carlos Santana, a renowned American guitarist, passed out on stage during a concert in the open air close to Detroit, Michigan.
Medical workers attended to the 74-year-old in Clarkston on Tuesday, and he was then brought to a nearby hospital’s emergency room for examination.
Mexican-born Santana later admitted on his Facebook page that he had “forgotten to eat and drink water” and that as a result, “I dehydrated and passed out.”
The musician was doing well, according to Michael Vrionis, his manager.
He did note that an event scheduled for Burgettstown, Pennsylvania on Wednesday “will be postponed to a later date.”
At Clarkson’s Pine Knob Music Theatre, footage has surfaced showing Carlos Santana receiving assistance leaving the stage. The celebrity was seen waving to the crowd in the footage as he was taken away on a stretcher.
Representatives described the 10-time Grammy Award winner as having “heat fatigue and dehydration” by representatives.
