Ammon Rose: Songwriter and Musician Tugging at Hearts with Memorable Music

Ammon Albert Rose had ears for sound and music from when he was a baby. As a baby, he was always humming to the sounds of things around him, and by the time he was eight, he already began trying to write songs with his cousin and close friend, Andrew Peterson. Although he didn’t quite create a complete song at the time, he remembers now that the spark and excitement he got from trying to write songs kept him motivated to take his songwriting and singing seriously.

Now 25 years old, Ammon Rose has morphed into a full-fledged singer and songwriter, making the small town of Bountiful Utah proud. As a young boy, Ammon says he remembers reading articles and watching countless videos to learn how popular musicians wrote songs. This piqued his interest to join the choir and learn some instruments.

In the beginning, it was difficult for him to compose the songs. However, he went on to sing the tenor in the choir and played percussion in a band. He started learning how to play the Ukulele, guitar, and other instruments he could lay hands on by himself. He had a terrible performance the first time he tried to perform one of his self-taught instruments, but over the years, he has improved his craft and is not building a brand.

By 2017, during his second year in college, he met a girl he liked, and he decided to write a song for her. He posted the song on YouTube on June 30, 2017. The video went viral and got about 40,000 views. That particular song helped him get his first record deal and gave him the opportunity to perfect his songwriting skills.

Fast-forward to 2020, Ammon Rose now operates as an independent artist and is in full control of his music materials. He released his first official single, “It’s Over,” featuring Abstract on July 1, 2020, and so far, the song has more than 10,000 streams on Spotify in about 80 countries all over the world. The song also entered a contest organized by T-Pain, and 82% of his curator team rated the song as hot. It was also played 46% more than any other song submitted on that day, and in the rating app for the contest, “It’s Over” went platinum.

Ammon’s life has not been without challenges, the most notable of which is the illness that befell him after he released “It’s Over.” The illness affected his vocals, and he was unable to sing. All he did was write as many songs as he could, and over the past five months, Ammon says he has written many songs. “I have many songs written and even have some featured artists I’m working with! I’m excited to show the world, and I just want to make sure it’s exactly how it needs to sound before I release it,” he says.

Ammon Rose has made songwriting an easy task to accomplish. His single was recorded in a living room, and he wrote and performed the song himself. He is proof that great things do not need to go through fancy processes. Ammon prides himself on his ability to create songs with meaningful lyrics and stories behind them. “You can always count on my music having meaning, a story, or history behind it. I create because it is my passion, and I want the world to make memories that my music can be a part of. That way, when they listen to specific songs, they remember those moments of their life. They can appreciate their past experiences more often, and I would love to help be a part of that through my music,” he says.
