Suneel Kumar is an American-born cricketer who has played the sport he loves worldwide. Kumar was in the USA Men’s 30-Man National Training Camp during the 2017-2018 season and is looking to get back out there to achieve the success that he was destined for. After being riddled with injuries in between seasons, the professional cricket player made a triumphant return during the 2021 season in Minor League Cricket for the Florida Beamers.
In a tragic twist of fate, Suneel Kumar was involved in a car accident that broke his hand and cut his season short. In 2022, Kumar returned with a vengeance in the US Premier League. With a series of strong performances, he got called up to the India-based Global Power Cricket League where he made his remarkable debut at the top.
Last October 23, Suneel Kumar made an explosive 103 not-out in just 46 balls playing for Atlanta Thunder against the Atlanta Heat in the AGCC League, including 11 fours and 6 huge sixes. Recently, he played for Bowes Cricket Club and had a Man of the Match performance on November 6 against Lacovia Cricket Club, where he scored 24 runs not out off of 10 balls and took 3 wickets, giving up only 5 runs in 2 overs with his off-break bowling.
Kumar has always been known as a trendsetter inside and outside of Cricket. With a penchant for thinking outside the box, he started his own YouTube vlog, something which no active cricketer has ever done before.
Finding himself in uncharted territory, Suneel Kumar firmly believes that his strong work ethic and overwhelming confidence will propel him to the top of his game, and it’s just a matter of time until he gets there. “I believe in this digital age where competition is so much more than for previous generations, we as athletes have to do whatever we can to get ourselves in front of as many eyes as possible. Performances don’t matter if nobody is taking note of them,” explained Kumar.
