Omar Khamis came up with the idea of KOEYEWEAR in 2022, with a mission to provide customers with an entertaining and exciting way of life through their daily eyewear. Better products with a better customer experience that are sustainable for the planet was Omar’s objective with his futuristic eyewear brand.

In a span of a few months, KOEYEWEAR has grown to become a globally recognized eyewear brand redefining customer experience and adding quality and sustainability to this industry. The sunglasses are designed in Bali – Handmade in Italy with high-quality materials like Acetate & ECO-Acetate. The brand also holds high social and environmental performance standards and works on three crucial fundamentals that put people, the planet and profit on equal footing. We asked him a few questions to learn more about Omar and his plans with his innovative eyewear brand.

Tell us about the short but remarkably successful journey of KOEYEWEAR thus far.

Omar Khamis: KOEYEWEAR’s journey was embarked upon to tackle the most prevalent problem in the eyewear industry, which is monopolization. For many years this industry has been dominated by big brands. Spending time outdoors in a country like UAE, a pair of sunglasses is a necessity. It was quite frustrating that the existing eyewear market either offers expensive designer glasses or cheap knockoffs that don’t last too long. Buying a pair of sunglasses seemed like a luxury, and that is when I realized that this issue needed to be fixed.

I was always an entrepreneur by heart, but I was waiting for the right time. I wanted to make a difference in the eyewear market with my brand, and this is when the idea of KOEYEWEAR came through. I had a feeling that I could offer the best styles of sunglasses that people would fall in love with. KOEYEWEAR was launched in order to bridge the gap between luxury and affordable eyewear for the consumer. I have translated my love of cities into KOEYEWEAR, which is why each pair of sunglasses are named after a city. As a firm believer in diversity, my vision is to make every design so unique and different from each other that they are a perfect fit for the different face shapes and skin colors of our customers.

What are the core principles that you follow at KOEYEWEAR?

Omar Khamis: At KOEYEWEAR, our objective is simple: we promise style and durability with affordability. A good pair of sunglasses should not hurt your pocket. That’s why we are always focusing on quality and pricing. With our creativity and out-of-the-box designs, we always look for ways to improve the business and stand out in the market. I have this ability to accept others’ opinions. To thrive and prosper as a business or an entrepreneur, one has to be open to others’ opinions and new ideas.

All of our glasses are handmade and designed to perfection with the expertise of professionals, keeping in mind the exclusivity and diverse nature of our customers. What can we hope to see from Omar Khamis and his brand in the future?

Omar Khamis: My love for sunglasses is what ultimately drives my passion, as I myself love wearing fashionable and chic eyewear that goes perfectly with my outfits. I understand that there are other people like me, and KOEYEWEAR is exactly for them. I intend to put my vision into action by designing the best eyewear anyone has ever seen. From kids to adults, men to women, KOEYEWEAR caters for everyone.

I believe in creating a relationship with my customers, which is why my goal is to not only make the best eyewear but also establish outstanding customer service. To facilitate them, we have launched a virtual try-on on our website and application. Customers can now try their look via their webcam while making an online eyewear purchase.    

Also, the brand is working towards sustainability by launching its latest Eco Acetate Sunglasses. Molding the more natural version of acetate in their frames, we are ensuring that the frames are of the highest quality and will last for a long time. The ability to see others and this planet evolve and thrive is a huge inspiration for me. It reminds me to remain on my journey of living my life with meaning and purpose. KOEYEWEAR is currently located in Dubai, UAE, and planning to mark its footprint in the Middle East, Europe, and the USA.
