Female Founder Promotes Learning and Collaboration Among Global Industry Leaders To Revolutionize The Food System

The food industry is one that is rapidly evolving and the COVID-19 pandemic exposed the vulnerability in the food system creating a stronger need for change.

According to reports published by CDC, 42.7% of adults in United States are obese. Obesity has been reported to predispose people to several health challenges costing the US healthcare system more than $147 billion a year. The need to innovate the food industry to ensure that consumers have a wide variety of healthy products on the shelves has never been stronger. Also, there is an apparent need to drive education and support for  intelligent innovation of a healthier food system.

With different scientific discoveries emerging in scientific communities on a regular basis and innovation emerging at an accelerated pace in the marketplace. A scientist saw the need to bridge the gap, her goal was to create opportunities for  scientists making discoveries in the academic community to connect with innovators and business leaders in the marketplace. Sharing their discoveries and where possible facilitating collaboration which will accelerate market introduction of beneficial scientific findings. Beyond that, it was equally important to create opportunities for food industry executives to learn how their products affect consumers on a day to day basis, shaping their innovative efforts.

Since 2017,  Julia Olayanju has been doing just that, bridging the knowledge gap and driving innovation for a healthier food system. As a scientist whose research opened her eyes to the impact of  food on health, she has emerged as a leading voice driving change in the food industry. Along with her team they have consistently created opportunities for learning, networking and collaboration for entrepreneurs, food scientists, food industry executives and investors

The FoodNiche® Global Health Summit creates a forum for thought-provoking conversations about food and health. With topics ranging from scientific discoveries driving innovation for healthier food products to showcasing how companies are intelligently innovating to meet consumer demands for healthier products.

The FoodNiche Tech Summit (formerly Disrupt Food Summit) focuses on bringing innovators together to discuss different strategies for leveraging technology to tackle some of the difficult challenges facing the food industry from farm to fork.

Beyond the conferences, she and her team has created a global platform to facilitate education, strategic partnerships and unique opportunities for investors or potential partners to discover emerging brands.

According to Julia Olayanju, building a healthier and resilient food system that can support our growing population is not something one company can do, it is a collaborative effort. Seeing the issues in our food system and developing practical as well as effective approaches to tackling them.
