An Ohio-born filmmaker is stretching himself to higher creative limits by directing, starring in, and scoring in an upcoming crime thriller for the ages. It seems likely that his work will make a massive impact on the industry. This visionary is John Wilson, owner of Ausar Films and author of various films and soundtracks.
A native of Youngstown, Ohio, John has been committed to putting his small and humble town on the map. He’s a musician, writer, actor, and director who is always pumping out creative content for viewers everywhere. His latest masterpiece is a film called Killing My Obsessions, in which John will be playing the lead role Fortune “The Wolf.” The story follows “The Wolf,” a retired hitman and club owner who falls in love with a Mafia king’s daughter and soon discovers her dark past. The film dives into themes such as gang violence, human trafficking, and love that defeats boundaries and stereotypes.
Joining John in the film is Michigan-based Actress Melisa Sandlin, who starred in 2018’s Silent Killer, the story of a victim of domestic violence who runs away from an abusive boyfriend only to watch her past run after her.
Before his work in film, John Wilson had a promising career in music. He was part of an underground Ohio rap group in the early ’90s. Together with his longtime business partner and brother of famous comedian Tracy Morgan, James, they built a music career that started to gain momentum. But when the trend started moving towards R&B and pop, the group parted ways. John went back to the drawing board and drew up plans for a new business idea. All roads lead him to Ausar Films.
John’s production company is one of Ohio’s top one-stop shops for creative work. The agency provides services in the area of music and film. He’s dedicated his life to changing the narrative for his town and doing something that would shake the film and music industry. Ausar Film’s team is a highly dedicated and ambitious group, always working hard to produce the best films, music, and creative content. They seek to be the next wave of brilliant indie entertainment moguls in the country.
John’s past films include the Sovereign Gangstas, a suspense thriller released in 2019, Loyalty, a film directed by David A. Romeo and in which John played the role of Chico, and The Awareness Factor, a story of 2 sisters who are kidnapped by a predatory psychopath. Next up on the filmmaker’s pipeline is Killing My Obsessions, which John promises will deliver. “The world of hip hop music and Hollywood film is about to feel the New aged Revolutionary Brilliance of Youngstown Ohio’s American Psycho and Gangsta,” shares John.
John also performed the movie’s top soundtrack entitled “Our Love,” which also features vocals from Amber Fox Fire and Black Onyx. The song will be one of a long list of the soundtrack album set to be released this July. “I think the world of music and film is ready for John Wilson aka Fortune ‘The Wolf’,” John declares.
