In a society where potential is often stifled by what can feel like insurmountable hurdles, Impact the World is a foundation rooted in the belief that every person deserves a chance to be the best they can be. Founded to dismantle both visible and hidden barriers that can hold people back, the organization is committed to creating opportunities for those who are too often overlooked, especially those within underrepresented, marginalized, and underserved groups.
These obstacles can be found in housing, healthcare, work, and education. We’ve long known that these issues have disproportionately affected disadvantaged communities. The result can be cycles of hardship that span generations. And regrettably, the results are apparent. Impact the World is a visionary nonprofit co-founded by Mike Wing and Victoria Junkins on the notion that every individual deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential, even when faced with tremendous obstacles. The organization was established to remove those obstacles that impede people on their journey. It gives opportunities to people who are often overlooked.
The Impact the World Foundation was created to serve as a remedy to these urgent issues. Its bold mission is to implement revolutionary, systemic shifts that not only address the outcomes of inequality but also rethink the systems that created them in the first place. The foundation works to transform mindsets and cultivate human potential, enabling every person, regardless of their starting point in life, to thrive.
Impact the World Foundation extends its mission through two powerful divisions: Impact Media and Impact Education. These sister ventures serve as vehicles for storytelling, advocacy, and transformative learning, amplifying the Foundation’s reach.
Impact Media harnesses the power of film, publishing, and digital platforms to elevate voices often left out of mainstream narratives—sharing stories of resilience, redemption, and systemic change. From books like The Incarceration Explosion: We Must Do Better to their upcoming book and corresponding podcast, Rights & Realities, media appearances, and interviews, this platform is a critical part of how the Foundation reshapes public perception and builds empathy-driven action.
Impact Education builds on this momentum by delivering STEM education to communities most in need of educational content. It designs immersive, context-rich learning experiences—similar to the successful Fifth Grade Program developed by Wing at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center—while also advocating for equitable access to quality education.
Together, Impact Media and Impact Education ensure that the Foundation’s vision is not only taught and communicated, but experienced and felt, forming a comprehensive ecosystem where inspiration meets implementation.
Wing and Junkins collectively have over 70 years of experience running successful businesses and non-profit organizations. They have strong academic backgrounds and a track record of working with disenfranchised and marginalized communities, making them well-qualified and capable of fostering meaningful, impactful discussions . Wing’s incredible academic journey spans an impressive range of disciplines. He holds numerous doctoral and master’s degrees in subjects including law, global affairs, criminal justice, public policy, theology, and education. These academic pursuits are not merely for personal acclaim. Instead, they reflect his deep, lifelong commitment to addressing and correcting systemic inequality.
Profoundly influenced by the biblical commentary of theologian Matthew Henry, Wing was inspired to translate Henry’s works into modern English and reorganize them by topic, making their insights more accessible to readers. His efforts knit together scholarship and service, combining spiritual wisdom with actionable strategies to uplift communities, particularly those marred by the criminal justice system.
Junkins led at Hewlett-Packard for 35 years, 25 of those in Marketing, winning the HPE “Women’s Excellence Award” in 2022. With a bachelor’s from Notre Dame and an MBA from Iowa, she has dedicated over 30 years to church ministries and humanitarian outreach, driven by her passion for justice, equity, and inclusion.
Under Wing and Junkins’ leadership and vision, Impact the World is not only addressing critical issues but also cultivating a movement focused on human dignity, empowerment, and transformation. At the foundation’s core is the belief that people are not defined by their circumstances, and that given the right tools, every person can transform their lives and break barriers.
Through its work, Impact the World is building more than programs: it is building hope, possibility, and a future where equity and opportunity are the standard, not the exception.
