There’s very little more empowering than a story of triumph over life’s most significant trials. And it’s that story that has made artist and author Linda Washington a beacon of hope for anyone who feels like they’re at the end of the rope. As a cancer survivor, she has a fantastic story to tell, and she tells it so well through various expressions and mediums.
One of Linda’s most recent channels of hope is her recently launched book, Forbidden And Broken: Finding Love Behind The Scars, which she released on Amazon and is now gaining momentum and climbing up among listings and fan favorites. The book narrates the survivor’s story of heartbreak, struggle, and victory through her pre-treatment life and post-treatment experiences. In Forbidden and Broken, Linda Washington bares it all, including the rejection and pain of unmet expectations.
Linda currently resides in Springfield, Massachusetts, where she works in the health field. When she isn’t taking care of those who need immediate physiological help, she’s helping those with wounds in their hearts. Linda loves to inspire people through her writing and looks to spread hope throughout the world. The practicing nurse and author is also a celebrated artist who has recorded alongside singer Superstar Lamar.
The singer released her first single entitled “Need Love,” featuring Superstar Lamar as a collaborator. The song speaks of her feelings, fears, and reflections on her fight with breast cancer. She speaks directly to breast cancer patients who feel like they are losing strength and hope amid the trial through the song.
“Through the song, I want to project and permeate love into the hearts of breast cancer survivors by making them believe that they are still as important as they were before diagnostics,” maintains Washington. “I also want them to know that their identity is far greater than just being pinned down to belittling breast cancer tag.”
Linda knows what it’s like to struggle. Besides her battle with cancer, she has also experienced all levels of rejections and self-diffidence, which affected her for over a decade. Now, Linda has overcome all odds and become an author, singer, and influencer. She will also soon appear on various billboards in New York as she has caught the attention of media and publications as of late.
Linda Washington shares the struggles she faces even to this day for being a breast cancer survivor. “I told the wrong people that I was a breast cancer survivor,” she shared. “So I was belittled and beaten and broken to the point that it scarred my soul.” But now, Linda has moved past her traumas and moves towards complete healing. While she will be the first to say that she isn’t entirely there, she knows that it’s just a matter of time.
A true overcomer through life’s most overwhelming storms, Linda is living proof of what perseverance and self-love can do for those who choose to make themselves a priority. She shares that there is nothing selfish about wanting good things for oneself and propagates that message through her latest book, her music, and life as a whole.Linda Washington is also a loving mother of four amazing children.
