Braddock says he is now distressed by the fact that the money they paid was actually fraudulent and was not actually used to pay off Taylor at all. A friend of Braddock’s said that the last time he spoke with him was in May 2016 about a month before Taylor was arrested for his scheme. During this conversation, Braddock reportedly told his friend that he and Chrisley were using Taylor to take money from millionaires who wanted to be with Chrisley’s daughter Lindsie without actually being with her.
Under federal law, the former bookkeeper could be charged for criminal offenses for participating in the scheme. Braddock’s lawyer, George Pappas, went on to say that “the government has no right to enforce its [federal] monopoly on money laundering and extortion on this case.”
Braddock Says Chrisley Was ‘Honest’
While Braddock admits that he and Chrisley had an affair. He believes his friend was being honest. When he said they were using Taylor as a middle man to take the money without actually paying him. Braddock stated:
“I believe with all my heart that he had nothing to do with this [scheme].”
