Located in the heart of Jersey City, The Waldo School has rapidly established itself as a beacon of educational excellence since its inception in September 2011. The journey of The Waldo School began in 2010 with a clear vision: to create an educational environment that combines the excellent aspects of various educational systems from around the world. Officially opening its doors in September 2011, The Waldo School quickly filled its initial enrollment capacity, reflecting a strong community demand for its innovative approach.
Initially a preschool, The Waldo School’s commitment to growth and excellence has seen it expand each year, adding new grades and eventually growing into a full-fledged K-8 institution. This growth has been organic, with each new grade level thoughtfully integrated into the school’s framework, ensuring a seamless transition for students and maintaining the high standards of education that parents have come to expect.
As of the 2024-2025 school year, The Waldo School proudly enrolls approximately 190 students ranging from PreK2 to 8th grade. This steady increase in enrollment is a testament to the school’s reputation for providing a high-quality, individualized educational experience. The school operates across multiple locations to accommodate this growth, including 110 1st Street, 125 1st Street, and a new site at 210 Hudson Street, set to open in September 2025.
One of the hallmarks of The Waldo School is its International Baccalaureate (IB) accreditation, which underscores its dedication to global education standards. The school is currently accredited for the Primary Years Programme (PYP) for grades PreK3-5th and is in the process of obtaining IB accreditation for its middle school program.
