Jesus Presinal on Making It Big in Dance and Photography

They say dancing is the joy of movement and the heart of life. For Jesus Presinal, a.k.a. JP, this statement couldn’t be any more accurate. Born and raised to Dominican parents, JP struggled to let his family acknowledge his craft; but he knew deep down inside that he was born to perform and that once he set his stage, it was game on.

Despite not having the support of his family for his talent, JP went on to make a name for himself after establishing his journey at an early age, recognizing the fact that the only way he was going to make it out there as a performer was if he braved all the elements of life and overcame them. A resilient JP then began performing in the streets of New York City, dancing his way through everyone’s hearts. It did not take long for him to land his first big job, and after signing to a talent agency, he then proceeded to dance for the Nets Team Hype, the official dance group for the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets.

Some of JP’s earliest performances were inspired by many great dancers and artists, so it was only natural for him to relish the moment he got to dance alongside Jennifer Lopez and Madonna. In addition, he became a featured dancer in several music videos for various artists, including French Montana and Becky G, even going as far as moonlighting as a stunt double for J Balvin. JP lived his best life as a dancer with various TV commercials and music video appearances. As if his innumerable successes weren’t enough, JP also traveled all around Europe while performing on a luxury cruise liner called Edge.

With his remarkable performances, JP continues to gain the love and support of many all over the globe. Still, when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, he sustained an injury during training and subluxated his shoulder, making him unable to dance for quite a while. Just when things were feeling a little miserable, Nikon, a company specializing in imaging products, picked him up and entrusted him with a camera and a social media project that marked the beginning of his photography journey.

Plowing through his injury and making the best out of an unfortunate situation, he picked up his camera and endured. He always admired the artistry of movement and photography, so this was an excellent opportunity to showcase his newfound virtuosity. He produced a new style of content where a video turns into a still image and labeled it as Freeze Frame Movement Photography. It was an instant hit, garnering him almost 40,000 followers on TikTok and almost 30,000 followers on Instagram—the two places where he mainly posts his creative masterpieces. He is also a content creator for RedBull.

Being able to do both dancing and photography has allowed JP to showcase his many creative gifts. Like he always said, sometimes there are pictures you cannot see with your eyes, so here’s a different set of eyes to look at things from. JP shows no indication of stopping anytime soon as he continues to inspire people worldwide with his outstanding crafts. To follow more of JP’s creative endeavors, check out his official website, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok.
