The world has taken a massive step towards progress when it comes to LGBTQ representation, but there’s still so much work to be done in the space. Fortunately, Hayden Todd is making waves in the entertainment industry, dipping his toes in a variety of media content, being his genuine self and showering the world with his full unadulterated pride.
Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on October 21, 1994, Hayden Todd acquired his passion for music and entertainment at the age of five. His father introduced him to John Carpenter’s 1978 Hollywood horror classic “Halloween,” and he hasn’t looked back ever since. The experience grew his love and passion for horror films and ignited a deep desire to be a part of the entertainment industry.
At that moment, he knew that he was destined to entertain in one form or another. At the age of ten, Hayden Todd got into rap music by listening to artists such as Lil’ Wayne, Eminem, Kanye West, and Nicki Minaj.
“I found myself writing rhymes, lyrics, songs, and even scripts in my journals throughout my schooling,” explained Hayden.
Since then, he became a show choir performer for three years for the Declo High Trendsetters. He made his way back to Salt Lake City, Utah and attended Salt Lake Community College in 2013 for their film program, where he picked up the necessary skills to direct, film, and edit his own music videos.
Hayden eventually starred in an independent film entitled “Red Eye,” written and directed by Deranged Mind Entertainment back in 2016. Furthermore, his passion for rap music eventually led him to eventually shoot his first music parody, “Lawn Guy.” The parody was then followed up by “Salt Lake City Dreams,” both of which sparked his love of music and writing. In the age of social media, he has amassed 55,000 followers on Tik Tok due to a video of him lip-syncing to the Golden Girls.
In 2019, Hayden Todd released his first album entitled GAYPOCALYPSE. Further cementing himself as an LGBTQ icon. Then in 2020, he released his most popular song to date, “Barbie Girl.” He did several features in other songs: “FBoy Fall,” “3, 2, 1 Vogue,” “Another Guy (Remix),” “Cap,” and a couple of freestyles to “Whole Lotta Choppas” and “Trollz.”
In 2021, he released his second album entitled Hayden Todd: Volume One. Since the release of his second album, the rising entertainment artist has done local performances at The Sun Trapp, an LGBTQ Bar in Salt Lake City, Utah, along with other local venues and other LGBTQ events.
His most notable performance was opening for LGBTQ icon Todrick Hall at the Loud & Queer SLC Pride 2021. He has been requested to perform in the Las Vegas Pride, which will be on October 10, 2022.
“With each new song that I write and each new performance, my strength as an entertainer constantly grows. My current single, “Long Lost Love,” is a testament to my growth as an artist and is only a stepping stone for music yet to come. With the support of my family, friends, and fans (my Hot Toddies), I hope to see myself as being a strong role model and voice for the LGBTQ community,” shared Hayden Todd.
