CEO and Founder of Inspire Your Daughters and Sons, Inc. Yalanda Barber-Sweney Helps Youth Find Their Creative Voice

Children are our best hope for the future. Knowing essential moral values, such as kindness, humility, and compassion, are essential to building their character as they grow up. Unfortunately, their families may not always be able to teach and instill these traits necessary to guide them towards the right path.

Thought leader Yalanda Barber-Sweney had this in mind when she pioneered Inspire Your Daughters and Sons, Inc. Aside from being a #1 Bestselling Author, Coach, and Speaker, Yalanda is also the first African-American woman to create a female and male toy curated as African American Foster Care Heroes, Princess Yaya and King James. She is also a child advocate for foster care and has spent over 20 years building overpopulated and misrepresented communities.

Recognizing the value of the community in parenting based on experience, Yalanda created the Family and Children Advocacy nonprofit organization 501c(3) as an initiative to create generations of empowered children. The visionary’s brainchild aims to build and strengthen family connections through arts and culture and strives to instill self-confidence by offering them the platform and resources to find their voice and hone their skills and talents.

To accomplish this goal, Yalanda anchors this venture on the Four F Framework—Faith, Family, Fun, and Finance. The Four F Framework are the core values the organization was built on.

“Faith (F) is believing that your child can succeed against all odds. Family or Friends (F) are the cornerstones to developing how we see ourselves and who we become. Fun (F) means families that spend time together through activities like arts and culture are likely to be more united and connected and have fun together. Lastly, Finance (F) means looking at creative ways to broaden their financial capacity,” Yalanda explained.

The Four F Framework was designed to fix broken relationships, build stronger bonds, break generational curses, and produce generational wealth. Through social and emotional learning tools and an interactive learning environment, children can expect to have fun while also building their self-confidence. The organization’s masterclasses, programs, and training courses are centered around the framework. Their latest project, Kreative Master Minds, inspires the youth, from grades K-12, to find their voice through creative writing and many other enrichment activities, at the same time promoting mindfulness and reconnecting with their identity and culture.

Yalanda built Inspire Your Daughters and Sons, Inc. for struggling families with children who are in need of a bit of assistance. The CEO and founder shared, “Most parents are busier now than ever before because of the increase in work hours which leaves them with less time to spend with their children. Oftentimes because of the lack of time spent, children develop low self-esteem and are in need of an outlet to express themselves creatively.”

Inspire Your Daughters and Sons, Inc. aims to promote entrepreneurship in families. Through the insightful projects and programs they crafted, Inspire Your Daughters and Sons, Inc. not only helps children improve their natural artistic talent but also teaches them how to monetize their work and become a “kidpreneur.”

With a strong passion and dedication to their advocacy, Yalanda relentlessly continues to inspire the youth to maximize their artistic potential. Through this extraordinary platform, children and families are given the opportunity to let their voices be finally heard, against all odds.
