Once in a while I will come across a new brand which compels me into purchasing one of their timepieces. Recently, I found a German brand – Tufina Watches – which has become popular for selling skeleton timepieces and mechanical watches for men. As a lover of classic mechanical pieces, I had to get one of their most popular models (Made in Germany Zurich Tourbillon Theorema). In this article I am going to cover this specific watch as well as some other details on their overall collection.
Zurich Tourbillon Opinions
The Zurich Tourbillon comes in a luxurious package. Inside the box I found an international guarantee as well as a booklet with maintenance and usage instructions. This is one of the most expensive models from the brand, and yet, it is still one of the most reasonably priced tourbillons I’ve ever come across. Considering how complex tourbillons are and how this particular one is fully hand-assembled, the watch delivers outstanding value for the price.
Movement
The Made in Germany Zurich Tourbillon Theorema is equipped with an in-house mechanical movement. You can notice the pink rubies jewels on the back thanks to the skeleton design, 20 of them in total. Blue well finished screws are also used, typical of quality watches. The whole engraving of the mechanism seems very likable to my eyes. The antigravity of the tourbillon is in full effect here, since I tested the Zurich Tourbillon to find out that it holds time quite exceptionally well, accurate to +/-3 seconds per day. All in all, in terms of accuracy and precision I’ll give Zurich 10 points out of 10.
Dial and Lens
The dial is skeletonized, with a day/night indicator on the 3 o’clock position. Also, there is another sub-dial which adds the dual-time function to this timepiece. The double colored stick hands move smoothly over the Roman numerals. Topped with a sapphire crystal lens, Zurich Theorema is properly protected from scratches. When moved, the dial plays with the light nicely.
Strap and Clasp
The band is made of real genuine leather. You can tell that it has been carefully stitched and properly connected with the lugs by closely looking at it. The sides are evenly cut and fully symmetrical. Leather bands tend to be the most comfortable only if properly done. Zurich Tourbillon is by far one of the most comfy watches I’ve ever worn. The Theorema brand is nicely printed on the inside of the strap and on the clasp, which adds a nice touch. Not many brands make an effort to put this much attention to details. The deployment clasp adds an extra layer of security and adds to the longevity of the band in general. Easy to put on and off, Zurich delivers the best of the best in terms of comfort and practicality.

Pricing
When comparing other similar models in the market, I can confidently say that Tufina offers some of the most cost-effective options out there. Considering the hand-assembly process from their laboratory in Munich, and the attention to detail and use of high-grade materials, I dare say Zurich is a bit underpriced. I am not afraid to say this, since it is a real genuine tourbillon movement. Surely, one of the brand’s missions is to make high-end watches accessible to the general public and they deliver on that promise. Still, if you’re not ready to pay $3,990 dollars on a watch, they offer plenty of other models which range from $250 to $1500. You can opt for a mechanical, automatic or skeleton watch which will deliver the same level of quality, thanks to Tufina’s commitment to limited production.
Theorema and Pionier
Zurich Tourbillon is part of the Theorema brand, however, Tufina has launched another equally popular collection named Pionier. While Theorema showcases more elegant and dressy watches, Pionier combines modernity with class. In this line, you will find an array of trendy and flashy timepieces made for those who prefer to take their style up a notch. So, if you’re into more versatile pieces that can be worn both on casual occasions and evening parties, take a look at Pionier.
Final Notes
All in all, I can confidently say that Tufina is a brand you shouldn’t miss. They bring some of the most affordable German timepieces in the market that deliver high-end quality. With prices starting from $250, this brand offers a budget-friendly option for anyone who wants to dress in style. Whether you’re looking for a more expensive classic tourbillon or a trendy, everyday piece, their collections offer countless models to choose from. If you have yet to experience the wonders of German craftsmanship, I highly recommend Tufina as a wonderful starters brand.
