“I realized patients weren’t always achieving lasting improvement; they were often cycling through the same challenges,” says Dr. Aaron Zirk, DO.

After more than 15 years in emergency medicine, this realization motivated him to explore a different approach. Now, as a key medical provider at Supreme Wellness, Dr. Zirk is helping to redefine how health and healing are approached.

At Supreme Wellness in Park Ridge and Oak Brook, Illinois, Dr. Zirk combines his clinical training with a modern approach centered on functional medicine, prevention, and personalization.

His focus is no longer solely on saving lives in urgent situations. It’s about helping clients work toward better health over time, with an emphasis on long-term well-being.

From Emergency Rooms to Functional Medicine

Dr. Zirk’s career began in high-stakes environments. Working in emergency rooms gave him a deep understanding of acute care. However, it also highlighted the limitations of reactive medicine.

He recalls the moment he realized his patients were often just surviving, not thriving. “I wanted to create a space where we could look more deeply at the cause of their pain and spend more time understanding their overall health,” he shares.

This desire led him to explore functional medicine, which focuses on addressing underlying causes rather than relying on quick fixes. He also started his own concierge medical practice to work more closely with his clients, particularly in men’s health and metabolic support.

Partnering with Supreme Wellness allowed Dr. Zirk to expand on that vision, reaching more individuals and offering more personalized care.

A Collaborative Approach to Personalized Care

At Supreme Wellness, Dr. Zirk is part of a multidisciplinary team.

He works alongside founder Dominika Laureto, who focuses on functional aesthetics and longevity, and Steve Laureto, who leads performance recovery programs.

Together, they design individualized treatment strategies based on each client’s health history, goals, and test results. These strategies may include:

  • Lifestyle and metabolic assessments
  • Hormone support when clinically indicated
  • Stress management and recovery tools
  • Movement-based recovery protocols
  • Non-opioid pain management options

“Rather than guessing what might work, we look at lab data,” Dr. Zirk explains. “We track changes and adjust based on how people respond to treatment.”

Supporting the Body, Not Masking Symptoms

Dr. Zirk is particularly interested in helping clients who have “tried various approaches” without experiencing sustained improvement. Many come to Supreme Wellness after navigating multiple treatments that didn’t provide lasting relief.

While the clinic does explore advanced and emerging therapies, Dr. Zirk is cautious about setting expectations. “Our goal is not to promise immediate fixes,” he says. “It’s to provide guidance grounded in the best available knowledge and to be transparent about areas that are still being researched.”

His philosophy closely aligns with Supreme’s values: transparency, integrity, and patient-first care.

Results Without the Rush

One of the distinct features at Supreme Wellness is the pace of care.

Clients are not hurried through appointments. Instead, they’re encouraged to ask questions, share feedback, and remain involved in every aspect of their care.

Dr. Zirk believes that this more deliberate, thoughtful approach is essential for helping clients make sustainable improvements. He emphasizes that building trust and empowering patients to take ownership of their health is a core element of lasting change.

This model has resonated with a broad range of clients—from busy professionals and athletes to those dealing with stress, fatigue, or chronic discomfort.

A Shared Vision for Wellness

Supreme Wellness was founded on the idea that beauty and well-being are interconnected.

Dominika Laureto, who founded the clinic in 2020, wanted to provide more than just cosmetic treatments. She envisioned Supreme Wellness as a place where internal health could support and enhance external results.

Dr. Zirk helps carry that vision forward by contributing his clinical expertise to the wellness side of the practice. “We’re not here to sell services,” he states. “We’re here to help address the underlying issues and work toward real solutions.”

Whether through diagnostics, tailored recovery plans, or simply taking the time to listen, Dr. Zirk is showing how personalized medicine can potentially lead to meaningful, lasting change.

Looking Ahead

Dr. Zirk continues to expand his role at Supreme Wellness while staying engaged with current research and clinical best practices. His goal is to contribute to the evolution of healthcare: one individual, one plan, and one measurable improvement at a time.

For those who feel overlooked in more traditional healthcare settings, his message is straightforward:

“We’ll take the time to understand your needs. We’ll listen carefully. And we’ll collaborate with you to identify the best possible path forward.”
