Nowadays, anyone can become an entrepreneur regardless of age. However, simply being an entrepreneur does not translate into success for even the most important startups, including those providing essential services. Regina Sadykova is one entrepreneur who understands this and believes that the will to succeed keeps every entrepreneur and their startup afloat. As a former tech reporter with a failed startup attempt, Regina has had her fair share of experience in the game; therefore, when she founded GetOutfit, it was a culmination of knowledge and lessons of over a decade.
Regina Sadykova is an entrepreneur, venture capitalist, fashion and tech enthusiast, and publicist. She is a co-founder of www.GetOutfit.ru, a fashionable tech platform that delivers personalized outfits and clothing items. She is also the CEO and founder of Smartsette Digital PR and influencer marketing agency. Regina has also been named as one of the Top 100 Russian women CEOs of technology startups by LETA Capital.
Regina’s journey into tech and entrepreneurship began over a decade ago when she worked as a tech journalist in Russia in 2010. As a journalist, she combed through different spaces for news, and within a short while, she had written hundreds of articles about entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship, science, tech, and innovations. Taking advantage of an already established network of friendship with editors and newsmakers, Regina tapped into the inspirational stories she had heard over the years and decided to venture into starting a company.
Regina’s obsession with entrepreneurship developed from her operating within the circle of successful and failed entrepreneurs and hearing their stories. Therefore, when she decided to leave journalism to establish her startup, it was a chance to prove herself but failing woefully on her first startup was the reality check that she needed. However, this failure was not enough to make her give up, instead of leading her to the point where she had to reform her strategies. So, on her second attempt to build a startup, Regina founded GetOutfit alongside her friend and business partner, Kim Sanjiev. According to her, the main idea behind GetOutfit was a tech platform that helps clients choose and get outfits. “It’s a fashionable tech platform that delivers personalized outfits for everyone,” she said.
As a former tech and entrepreneurship journalist, tech founder, and an influencer digital marketer, Regina understands trends. She knows what it takes to succeed as a company and she knows the precipice for failure in equal proportion. On where she sees GetOutfit five years from now, she said, “At the top of the industry and as a one-stop-shop for anyone looking for fashion tips and outfit ideas.”
According to Regina, although not everyone can be an entrepreneur, it is also very important that the younger generation be encouraged to take up creating because that is the only way half of the world’s problems can be solved—“looking inward and creating problem-solving companies.” And in her words, particular emphasis on the girl-child education and development will not only restore parity and equality but also open up more insightful companies and help solve more problems.
