How That Jewish Family Utilizes Social Media as a Platform to Depolarize Society and Bring the World Closer Together

Over the years, society has come up with so many technological advancements, including communication devices that connect the world. Yet despite this massive progress, there still seems to be a vast disconnect among people. One cause of this divide is the lack of empathy and understanding of the different cultures, practices, and traditions present among various communities. Cognizant of this, Raizel and Daniel Namdar have made it their mission to help bring the world closer together by promoting respect and understanding.

The intuitive young couple is the brilliant minds behind That Jewish Family, the first Orthodox Jewish family vlog. The husband and wife duo grew up in Chassidic families. Dani is one of 11 children and hails from Gothenburg, Sweden. On the other hand, Raizel is one of eight siblings and was born and raised in Sydney.

Now, both of them are Jewish Chassidic Nomads and chronicle their adventures along with their son, Mendel. The endearing family’s videos provide followers a glimpse of their daily life.

When asked what inspired them to start such a groundbreaking channel, Raizel and Daniel responded, “So much of the Orthodox Jewish world is unknown, and stories that are filmed/written about are usually scripted and written to fit a certain narrative. So for the first time ever, we are showing the world how we live for real, in a genuine and non-scripted manner. So we started our channel “That Jewish family” on all platforms.”

The couple added, “Our goal is to depolarize society, one video at a time. If everyone can learn to respect other cultures and people’s ways of life and understand their way of life, this world would be closer together in harmony and with more love. We show our day-to-day life as a couple, as a family and our traditions. And for the fun part- we’re Nomads!”

The Jewish Family shares their customs and traditions through their vlogs to the audience. They even share insightful explanations that help others understand why these practices are being followed, thus, effectively removing any stigma some people might have.

“We want to give the world the chance to come together. Yes, we are different, our lifestyle is not your average, but if we all understood each other, then this world would be much closer together,” the family explained.

Because of their genuine passion for their craft and dedication to providing authentic content, the inspiring family has received tremendous feedback from the community, Jews and non-Jews alike.

As a testament to their incredible success, they have amassed a considerable following of more than 84,000 on Instagram, over 41,000 on TikTok, and over 50,000 on Facebook. Their YouTube channel also has a whopping subscriber count of over 16,000 and more than 2.5 million views. In the past month alone, The Jewish Family has garnered over 17 million views on all its platforms.

Moving forward, Raizel, Daniel, and Mendel plan to continue their journey as Jewish Nomads, exploring the world. Of course, they intend to share their story with their community and followers while still upholding their mission of depolarizing society and bringing the world closer together.
