Listening to the works of such icons alongside her parents and grandparents since she was five years old, music became an inseparable part of her soul. Seeing how much music legends impacted her family, Stacey also wanted to create the same impact and build a lasting legacy as the voices that filled her childhood.
Raised in The Bronx, NY, she began learning the lyrics of the songs she loved most on the radio, memorizing them by heart. Even though Stacey Monique had the talent to leave the world speechless, she had a fear of singing to people at an early age. But she mustered up the courage to sing at her high school talent show in 1986 and sang Jean Carne’s “Closer Than Close,” where she received a standing ovation. The talent show kick-started her journey in the music scene, and since then, she has buried her stage fright. What remained was her determination to cement her name down music history.
Besides music, Stacey Monique also pursued a career in acting six years ago and landed the role of Sandra in the award-winning web series called The Bitch in 4B. The rising artist is also the creative mind behind the web series’ musical score under the same name. The web series was released in 2018. Stacey Monique also starred in other films, including Gang Gang Gang the Movie in 2016 and DNR in 2019.
