KIDConscious Striving to Make a Name in the Music and Film Industry

In a world where there is an abundance of talent and it’s hard to stand out, KIDConscious is striving and damning all consequences to stamp his footprint as a rapper and musician. Born Robert Upton, KIDConscious’s gift has always shone through everything he did from a young age. He started undergoing training as a little boy and garnered some experience in rapping, writing songs, performing, and acting.

Growing up, KIDConscious has delved into his music full time and won the hearts of music lovers from his hometown—Chicago’s Southside and Westside and the United States of America as a whole. He has performed at various venues, taken his public appearances seriously, and spent considerable time in the studio recording new music.

KIDConscious considers his music career as part of an evolving culture that puts Black talent on the map. His goal has always been about seeing young rap artists, particularly Black rappers, from all over the United States reach the peak of their careers. He’s passionate about Black excellence and identifying proudly with his skin color. His most recent music, “Try Me,” is out now making waves on radio and music streaming platforms.

KIDConscious targets an audience demography of 16 to 45-year-olds who enjoy R&B, pop, and rap music. “I am an artist for young people and would like to capture as many of them as possible as my core fans. I do a little bit of acting here and there, so I’d like people who watch movies and television shows to get used to me because they will be seeing me on their screens soon,” he said. He’s signed to Eclipse Records

KIDConscious has been featured in hit television shows like FOX’s Chicago PD, and Showtime’s The Chi. Songs like “Haters Gone Hate,” “Try Me,” “Ms. Maybe,” and “Kit Kat” have shown the rapper’s lyrical dexterity and artistic expertise. His creativity and originality set him apart as an artist, and he ensures he markets himself through multiple outlets ranging from social media to public appearances. “Haters Gone Hate” has garnered thousands of streams on all streaming platforms.

He sees himself growing into a globally recognized artist in a few years. Outside music, he’s fastidious about keeping his acting career on track, and he hopes to be a part of more hit shows in the nearest future. With Black Excellence gaining more awareness in the wake of the Black Lives Matter protests, KIDConscious plans to put his career center stage and contribute to the black community. “Seeing young black rappers achieving success in the entertainment industry is one thing I’m passionate about. I am fully committed to achieving success so I can uplift other people coming behind,” KIDConscious said.

He plans to keep releasing songs, featuring other artists, landing more movies and television show roles and becoming a notable entertainment personality. “I have been grinding for a long time, and I’ll like to see my music top charts and travel around the country organically,” he affirmed.
