The Amagi Enters Partnership with Frederator Media

In October, 19-year-old content creator Ethan Schulteis partnered with Frederator Media: the studio behind franchises like “The Fairly Oddparents,” “The Powerpuff Girls,” and “Adventure Time.”

The Wisconsinite rose to fame for his own YouTube channel “The Amagi.” the pseudonym by which he is best known. The channel covers the histories of fictional animated worlds and has attracted over 1 million subscribers since its launch in 2016.

Schulteis also runs the account “The Amagi 2,” which reviews live action environments, while his namesake YouTube channel “Ethan Schulteis” features personal vlogs.

The Frederator Digital partnership is the result of Schulteis’s long-standing relationship with the media company. Frederator Media is a leading independent producer of animation for streaming services. For two decades, Frederator Studios has produced nearly 20 series and over 250 short films for partners ranging from Netflix and Amazon, to Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network.

Frederator Digital, meanwhile, has cultivated a reputation as YouTube’s largest global animation network. It runs a series of channels for video game enthusiasts, movie and TV fans, and animation aficionados.

The latter where Schulteis comes in.

In 2020, not long after the Canadian Wow! Unlimited Media acquired the Frederator brand, the studio’s YouTube channel went dark. When Schulteis learned their employees were let go at the height of the pandemic, he committed to hiring members of Team Frederator for his own channel—working closely with graphic designers, voice actors, and other staff once employed by the studio.

Today the “ChannelFrederator” YouTube account publishes weekly content, and Schulteis has signed on to produce videos for the brand. There he covers the histories of animated worlds, overseeing the “107 Facts” series highlighting animated programs like “Owl House” and “Avatar,” to name a few.
