Paris Brown Throws a Challenge at Bank of America—Help People with ADHD

Online real estate comes at a hefty price, and anyone who lands on something big can cash in big. But when Paris Brown landed on the domain name bankofamerica.dev, he had a more missional goal than simply reselling it to one of the largest financial institutions in the world. He had in mind to present them with a challenge: to support people with ADHD in exchange for the domain name.

The challenge isn’t anything lavish and beyond the company’s reach. All that the challenge requires is that the organization’s board of directors donate $900 a month for the next three years to organizations committed to helping people with ADHD, something that one of the wealthiest institutions could easily do without even flinching one bit. Once Bank of America does that, Paris would happily hand over his online real estate rights to the company.

What makes the cause of helping people with ADHD so crucial to Brown is that he has it too and has had it for as long as he can remember. Growing up was a bit of a challenge for him as he would go undiagnosed for many years. When he reached middle school, experts would diagnose Paris with attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder, which affected his ability to learn and focus on anything. Doctors would prescribe a daily dosage of Ritalin and placement in special education. This cycle would continue for many years until Paris’ mother would decide to take a different route in 1999.

With the help of his supportive and loving mother, Paris Brown would get into community college to pursue basic graphic design, which would switch a light bulb on in him. “From there on, my learning began,” explained Paris. “Now, my mind finally found something interesting, and I started getting As in my lessons.” However, the graphic design enthusiast would not stay long in the college route. He would start working in City Year, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping students learn and succeed.

In 2015, Paris would experience a reversal of fortune which would make him homeless for a season. He would stumble across a security job down and out, which would also provide access to a $6,000 security training program through the help of a generous donation by a sociocultural group. Paris would once again find it in him to persevere through the ordeal and graduate from security school with an A- and land a job that would provide him the stability needed to get back on his feet.

Today, Paris Brown is determined to pay it forward after experiencing the good and kindhearted generosity of people while he was homeless. He’s determined to challenge the most prominent financial institution in the land to start helping people who have his condition. Millions of children and adults have ADHD at varying levels, leading to learning disabilities, unemployment, and even homelessness, as in Paris Brown’s case. But through the help of various institutions, these people can experience normalcy and even success. With the help of Bank of America, if ever they agree to Paris’ terms, hundreds of people with attention deficiency would be able to live better lives and start finding the necessary stability to get ahead in life. To find out how you can help this cause to convince Bank of America to support people with ADHD, visit Paris Brown’s website.
