The technological advancement in the 21st century marks an era of technical revolution, and present generations are surely benefitting from the inventions of the great contributors. From smartphones to other high-tech inventions, the world is witnessing product developments and innovations thanks to the great minds from the past. One of such contributors is the legendary man known as Steve Jobs.

Born and raised in San Francisco, California, Steve Jobs was a pioneer of the personal computer era. He was the chief executive officer, chairman, and co-founder of Apple Computer, now Apple Incorporation. A business magnate, investor, industrial designer, and media proprietor, Steve Jobs significantly contributed to the advancement of Information Communications technology.

Steve Jobs grew up in a simple household. Neither of his adoptive parents had a college education, and they had to pledge for Steve’s college education to receive adoption consent from his biological parents. He grew up watching his father’s craftsmanship. From fences, cabinets, and other woodworking projects, Steve’s learned skills on building and fixing skills eventually evolved and expanded into building and fixing electronics.

Unlike other kids, Steve was aloof. His teachers would describe him as a problematic child, and students bullied him for being socially awkward. The entire family then decided to go move him to a new school. Eventually, he attended nearby Homestead High School, which escalated his interest in electronics and literature.

Steve Jobs enrolled in a college but ended up dropping out to keep his parents from spending money on something that he thought was meaningless. He went back to his family and looked for jobs. Experimenting with psychedelics, creating a circuit board for an arcade video game, and attending the Homebrew Computer Club meetings, Steve Jobs eventually founded Apple Computer Company with Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne.  They used to do their operations in Steve’s bedroom and garage. It flourished and grew by leaps and bounds to become what is now a renowned multinational corporation.

The establishment of the Apple Computer Company paved the way to the invention of the iPod, iPhone, and iPad. Continuously innovating, the company develops its products and creates new features that the world has never witnessed. Despite his significant contribution to the company, Steve Jobs resigned and left the company by 1985. He then founded NeXT Inc., which Apple Inc has now acquired. By 2011, Steve passed away at the age of 56 due to rare pancreatic cancer.

Steve Job has made a significant change in the dynamics of the world. Inventing the personal computer and realizing how it would appeal to the public, he introduced a technology that has become a necessity in the 21st century. People worldwide use laptops and notebooks rooted in the personal computer.

With the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic, the world has mostly transitioned to the online platform. Utilizing gadgets to communicate with people located miles away and sitting in front of computers all day to work while staying at home, the world continuously functions with the availability of computers. Steve Jobs is a legend, and the world will never forget his significant contributions.
