However, Jeyaia is one of the artists making an impact right off the bat and having her music permeate every corner of the world where good music is a staple. Her debut single, “Rising,” is doing so much for her budding career, and the world is here to witness that.
With a focus on themes like self-awareness, self-awakening, transformation, challenge and growth, Jeyaia ministers to souls looking for strength, empowerment and self-awareness to keep going while finding enough love within themselves. Her creamy harmonies and silky smooth tones shine through as she blends neo-soul with old-school R&B music. The song passes along the message that the love everyone seeks is within them and all they need to do is look within to find it and revel in that realization. “To me, true freedom is knowing who we are. Unconditional love is a feeling; when we are connected to the truth of who we are; knowing we are divine extensions of the universe, and we have everything we need within,” Jeyaia shared.
While “Rising” consciously empowers people to live their best lives based on self-love, creating the song itself is spontaneous. Jeyaia met with musician and producer Otis James at his home studio in Sydney, Australia, for the first time. The song came about instantly, and they decided to finish it and create the magic that everyone has gotten hooked to. “Otis is a musical genius. He played a few chords for me, and I knew it would be my first song. I felt it in my bones. The melody and lyrics channeled through me effortlessly, and together with Otis’ expertise in the studio, the track became more and more powerful. We both became bigger versions of ourselves through the process of creating this song,” Jeyaia described the meeting and experience.
The Sydney-based artist got into the music business from a very young age by traveling to musical gigs with her parents, who were members of a blues band. Getting exposed to music that early got her prepared for the musical life and undoubtedly shaped her into the artist she is today. “Music is everything to me. I grew up in a very musical household, and all of my earliest memories are kept alive by the music that created them. Christmas at nan and pop’s house with Ella Fitzgerald and Bing Crosby vinyl, and summer holidays singing with my family in the car on long road trips. For me, music is my happiness,” she shared.
With her budding career taking off, she has built a dedicated following on social media with a barrage of requests for an official single.
