In 2004, while working multiple jobs NaeSketchie interest for fashion sparked while working as a sales associate at Dr. Jays, a popular streetwear clothing store in New York City. He started to designed custom spray-painted t-shirts and sneakers for cash to earn more. NaeSketchie always evolving and striving for the best merged into entertainment after his friend suggested hosting house parties due to his lionization. He ran with the suggestion and asked his sister to let him host a gathering at her apartment. He was charging a cover at the door to bring in another stream of revenue and to cover event expenses. He very rapidly grew into the most talked about host for his lavish parties. And when you feel good you can do good for others around you”, said NaeSketchie. The origins of the name, MAZCO itself was from my wanting for the name to be memorable, original, and elite. After creating the original logo modeled after a frog, which “Maco” translated to English is frog, the name MAZCO was born after adding a Z in the name.” NaeSketchie continued and said, “I dropped the original frog logo and incorporated a new logo involving red, blue and yellow.” The frog represents a variety of symbols, both good and bad which shows that we human beings are not perfect. But generally, they signify transformation, change, cleanse through water, fertility, and prosperity. Being raised and born in the Bronx, NaeSketchie always envisioned the bigger picture. The red represents fire, the yellow represents the sun and the blue represents water equating to LIFE. He wants his consumers to LIVE MAZCO. NaeSketchie said he is constantly coming up with many designs which he wants to put to life. One of new piece from his collection is a Princess Diana hoody. He loves the concept of Princess Diana because he stated that Diana used her role in the public eye to change the things she didn’t accept around the world. She also believed in the power of young people to change the world and that young people should be supported to make sure they reach their full potential. He believes in the concept of evolving and always challenging ourselves.
